Lach had a band in the mid-nineties called The Sextet Offensive. All of the
flyers revolved around the same theme. Cool space chicks with big guns.
During the early 1990's Lach had relocated The Fort to San Francisco. It was there, at The Scared Grounds Cafe, that he first met Mr.Scarecrow and Lenny Molotov. Most of the flyers were drawn by SF artist Chuck Sperry.
This is from the original Fort, probably 1983 or 84. Note how it was called 'New Folk' that night. Either this is pre-Anti or else it was going back and forth on names. Also, see the act named 'Mr.Death'? You
know him today as...Charles Herold!
This is from the Antifolk Fest in 2001. The amazing artwork on this one was drawn by Jeff Lewis.
Check out these two flyers used to promote some Randi Russo shows. Note it always helps to be a great artist if you want to make great flyers. The flyer on the left is promoting Randi's Record release party. Pick up the Cd and see why it was a party!
Jenn Lindsay makes Folkaroni taste great! And they say Pablo Picasso invented the collage. Did Jenn invent anti-collage?
This was used to promote a great night of antifolk music put together by Rob Getzshman. It includes antifolk acts from NYC, Philly and Boston- No doubt!
This was used to promote the very first Laval Organs show ever! This one sets the tone.
This is one recently used by Atlantis Black. If you look closely you will see that she is gettin her freak on with the other band performing. How is that for a flyer.
This one promoting a Linda Draper show hasn't even happened yet but you can see the ANTIZINE publisher must have used some of her charm to get a great NYC artist to draw her a great flyer!!
Here is one of the most original flyers I have seen. It was doen by Jeff Lewis. He actually made his own bubble-gum wrappers complete with comic strips and gum! Here is the wrapper. The strip involved two Jews worried about the Y5760 bug and Jean-Michael Basquiat with a demon attached to his side.
This one is promoting an upcoming show for the Laval Organs. I hear they Rock! check it out!
Here is a flyer for Bob Haystack
This is for an upcoming show for Cutis Eller.
I am not sure what this one is promoing but as we all know Fenton is worth a peep. If you haven't seen him perform before what are you waiting for?
Check out this one for redjacket!!
This is the front and back of many different flyers that Jonathan Berger has made to promote an upcoming show with his band Juanburguesa.
Rav Shmuel is a new sensation on the Antifolk scene. One of the unique things about this flyer is that it is hand cut in order to get those cool angles!
