Meet the queer sons of new york city's ANTI-FOLK scene, TESTOSTERONE KILLS they are what Simon and Garfunkel might have been if they had been sleeping together and grown up on musicals, indigo girls and technoless punk influenced than most AFNY players, their trademark is their spectacular harmonies and their frank lyrics. From existentialist rantings to sexuality and spirituality ..they embrace the topical sensibilities of folk but drag it kicking and screaming into this century by
replacing the usual back up band, with drum loops and analog bass lines they are now pioneering what they call "electro-folk"
Pablo and Tim met in a musical theatre conservatory in MANHATTAN and soon started shagging and writing songs together. Before they even finished their programs they new they wouldn't be actors"We had things to say that we obviously couldn't say as a member of the chorus in some irrelevant watered down revival of a 1950's Broadway show"
And so almost 3 years ago Testosterone Kills found their way to the Lower East Side of NYC and it's recently hotly tipped ANTI-FOLK scene where they have been featured in it's semi annual "ANTI-FOLK FESTS" and in it's clubs which have been the breeding grounds of many successful artists including BECK, MICHELLE SHOCKED, HAMELL ON TRIAL, KING MISSILE and most recently their contemporaries THE MOLDY PEACHES.
They will be releasing an EP this spring and in the summer will be featured on the compilation of new and old queer artists called "queer stock, queer soup" with ANI DIFRANCO, PANSY DIVISION, PHRANC AND JILL SOBULE! They continue to record at POWERHOUSE STUDIOS in Queens where they live (where else?)
