RS- What's your first musical memory? TC- my first musical memory was a fat lady singing.
RS- Did your older brothers and sisters turn you on to music? TC- i have no older siblings.
RS-The first record you bought? TC- the first record i bought in the way a grown up buys a record was "the essential jimi hendrix". however for years i had listened to shown tunes from "les mis" "cats" "the music man" "camelot" and "jesus christ superstar". i also liked irish folk music and oldies.
RS- How did you get your first guitar? TC- i got my first guitar when i was around twelve or thirteen.
RS- What was the name of the first song you wrote? TC- the first song i wrote was about the death of rock and roll and the erosion of mass culture. its name has since been lost.
RS- Did you have "relationship" songs- like you and your girlfriend's favorite song? TC- two relationship songs i've had are the kink's "the village green preservation society" and the beatles "two of us".
RS- Do you remember your first time onstage? TC- my first time on stage was as hamlet in a first grade production of "rosecrantz and guildenstern are dead".
RS- What in your opinion is the coolest instrument in the world? TC- all instruments are cool in the hands of someone who can play them, otherwise, none of them are cool. however, i feel that of all the instruments that exist, the electric guitar is probably the coolest.
RS- Did you have a favorite TV theme song? TC- my favorite tv song is the theme from "welcome back kotter"
RS- What's wrong with it? TC-
RS- What artists can you not stand? TC- i don't like any bad music.what is "bad"? i'd rather not go into it.
RS- You mean like creed? TC- i think i would call creed "bad". very bad, indeed.
Do you listen to, say, any MTV bands? TC- i like the strokes, the white stripes, beck, radiohead, eminem at times. this is pretty much it.
RS- What's the music scene like at home? Do you sand your wife fight over the stereo? TC- |
