Wooden Ghost
Wooden Ghost rises from the ashes of Ask the Dust, the seminal NYC quartet that received expansive praise as the band that could out minimize your most darling minimalists. Brent Cole (gtr, vocals) the founder of that group, decided that he wanted to tighten things up to create a thicker sound as a backdrop to the songs he had been writing of late.

Having played with such NYC luminaries as the Moldy Peaches, Stipplicon, Dufus, and several others, brent finally found the time to get his own music in focus. When Wooden Ghost entered the studio in fall of 2002 to record their debut album "No minute gone comes ever back again, take heed and see ye nothing do in vain" for TuolumneRecords, brent found that he was happiest with the sound if he played most of the instruments himself. He invited long time friend and collaborator Douglas Keith, (Ask the Dust/ the first person to see an elephant) to play some lead guitar and lap steel. He has since become a fulltime member.  The Purple Organ is also since become a member.

Brushing the dust off a low-fi past, Wooden Ghost flip through your family's photo albums and remind you of the moments, blending familiar ideas and harmonies with singularly unique results.
